Recently I watched a tv show featuring the story of two people who were reunited after several years of being far away from each other. They accidentally met during a reunion and the feelings that were felt when they were still teenagers came back to both of them.
They were former sweethearts and they parted ways then had their own separate lives. After the reunion, they spent time together for some days. They were re living the past yet it was the woman who was hesitant to go into a more intimate moment with the man.
She was telling the man that she can’t go into that kind of relationship again since they have their own lives now. The woman is a widow while the man is still married. Even during the last night that they spent the woman was telling the man how sorry she was if she can’t give the physical needs of the other guy.
Until the following day that they need to depart from each other’s company, it was so hard for both of them. They spent seven days together and the moment that they need to separate ways was so hard….they still very much love each other yet they are both unfree now.
What I appreciate in this story is the woman’s strength to free herself from being tempted by not letting something physical and intimate that would happen between her and the man she loves within the seven days they spent together.
Most probably, we could relate and tell our own stories with the one mentioned beforehand and it is but proper to ask ourselves, ” Did we become strong in the midst of any temptation that came along our way?”
Yes, I believe that we all could especially if we constantly call out God’s name and make ourselves free from any situation that could lead us into temptation.
