Be Strong...in the Midst of Life's Storms

Recently I watched a tv show featuring the story of two people who were reunited after several years of being far away from each other. They accidentally met during a reunion and the feelings that were felt when they were still teenagers came back to both of them.

They were former sweethearts and they parted ways then had their own separate lives.  After the reunion, they spent time together for some days. They were re living the past yet it was the woman who was hesitant to go into a more intimate moment with the man.

She was telling the man that she can’t go into that kind of relationship again since they have their own lives now. The woman is a widow while the man is still married. Even during the last night that they spent the woman was telling the man how sorry she was if she can’t give the physical needs of the other guy.

Until the following day that they need to depart from each other’s company, it was so hard for both of them. They spent seven days together and the moment that they need to separate ways was so hard….they still very much love each other yet they are both unfree now.

What I appreciate in this story is the woman’s strength to free herself from being tempted by not letting something physical and intimate that would happen between her and the man she loves within the seven days they spent together.

Most probably, we could relate and tell our own stories with the one mentioned beforehand and it is but proper to ask ourselves, ” Did we become strong in the midst of any temptation that came along our way?”

Yes, I believe that we all could especially if we constantly call out God’s name and make ourselves free from any situation that could lead us into temptation.

Express Your Gratitude for God's Goodness

Man is so lucky to have such a loving God. Ever since the story of creation, up to such time that the world had passed so many stages until the present moment, God’s love has been displayed unceasingly. No matter how sinful man has been, God, on His part,  continues to extend His love and He shows it by embracing  each one to His fold disregarding all faults and failures.

We have been so lucky to have such a caring and a loving God. Thus we also have the responsibility to show our gratitude to Him by deeds of goodness and kindness. As challenging as it is,  we are often limited by our own weaknesses. For so many occasions in life, we are put into trials and for many times as well, we succumb to them. Still, God stays the same, loving us all with no conditions and with no hard fist stanch.

We have reasons why at times we fail in this commandment of love yet on the other hand, we are also consistently invited to go back to God’s fold. It is then our own initiative to take up our cross and follow His will.  Furthermore, it is also our responsibility to follow His commandments especially His invitation for us to

Don't Give Up

In life, various forms of distractions come each day. Whether it is regarding members of the family, or with one’s job, or with a particular relationship, trials are but part and parcel of life. These trials can sometimes cause stress or even worst injury to a person in terms of one’s relationship with others.

As human as we are, it is normal to be at times affected by negative events in our life. When we are hurt and down, the more that we become fragile in our relationships thus if left unsolved, may cause damage to them. There are numerous relationships that suffer and broken because of tensions as consequences of unsolved trials.

In the midst of life’s trials, one needs support especially coming from family members and from God. The significant members of our family can play a major role in our battles against life’s difficulties. Their presence and moral support can effectively endow us strength and positive energy that allow us to move day by day.

On the other hand, when we call God’s name, we then are submitting ourselves to His will. Furthermore, we recognize His greatness and His undying love for all of us. Without His great love, we can do nothing at all.
