God Speaks In So Many Ways

 

Psalm 86:3-6, 9-10

“You are my God; pity me, Lord; to you I call all the day. Gladden the soul of your servant; to you Lord, I lift up my soul, ” Lord, you are kind and forgiving; most loving to all who call on you, “Lord, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for help. ” All the nations you have made shall come to bow before you, Lord, and give honor to your name. For you are great and do wondrous deeds; and you alone are God”

So powerful are these words coming from the Psalmist. Yet if we try to look closely in our life, these words indeed are very significant. We have trials everyday and the only one who can give us sufficient strength is our God. We could never lift up everything solely on our own.

We need to constantly put our trust on Him believing on the first place that His love and compassion is everlasting. On times of distress and persecution, He is the only refuge we can have in our life. Even others would fail in their affection for us but in our God, His greatness is overwhelming and never ceases.

Rescue Me Oh God

 

While we are on this season of Lent, it is better if we could have the time to look back and check in our lives if where are we now in our present relationship with our loved ones, fellowmen, the world and most of all, with our God. Let me share with you this excellent Psalm 109:21-22, 26-27 and 30-31:

” But you, Lord my God, deal kindly with me for your name’s sake; in your great mercy rescue me. For I am sorely in need; my heart is pierced within me. Help me, Lord, my God, save me in Your kindness. Make them know that this is your hand, that you Lord have acted.  I will give fervent thanks to the Lord; before all I will praise my God. For God stands at the right hand of the poor to defend them against unjust accusers.”

What is indeed striking for me on this psalm is the overwhelming love and compassion that is coming from our God. After all, He is our main refuge. He is the source of everything and He knows exactly what is it that we need in our lives.

Amidst all the tribulations, complexities, difficulties and anxieties in life, there could be times that we become so down and broken. Consequently life seems to become a burden rather than a joyous journey towards the realisation of all our dreams.

Somehow, in our brokenness, we realise that it is only God who is our main refuge. It is in Him that we can find compassion and love, much more greater and consistent than ours. Thus, in all our humility, we submit everything to Him above and believe in His all encompassing kindness to us.

Another Day....Another Chance to Enjoy Life to the Fullest

 

It’s Sunday once again and this day will remind us how wonderful God’s love is for all of us. As we wake up each day, we come to realise how mysterious at times yet very comforting also the love that God has accorded to each one of us. At moments in life, we falter due to our wickedness and limitations yet He always grabs our hands and helps us stand up again.

We savour each day the all encompassing and great affection God has given to us. As such, it is always a source of inspiration and motivation for us to go on with our individual journey in life no matter what is presented before us.

Thus, may we always share with others this goodness and grace that we endlessly receive from God, allowing every single day  and moment to become our own pathway of sharing and putting smiles on others’ faces especially those who are presently trekking a difficult way.

Learning To Appreciate The Good Deeds of Others

 

In our life, we all need models- people who can show us how to live life differently and on to the right direction. All our encounter everyday, we come in contact with various kinds of people and many of them have left imprints in our life.

Thus, it is always beneficial for us to be consistently aware of those people who have, in one way or the other, have impacted our life. The examples of all our leaders in the bible most especially by the most significant leader and friend that we have, our friend Jesus Christ, should give us enough reasons to be upbeat everyday.

Thus, by being aware of all their good deeds, we are allowing ourselves to be positively touched and affected by them.

Thanks for Everything

As we near to the closure of this year 2014, let us also express our gratitude for all the wonderful blessings that we have embraced all throughout this year.

Thank you for the gift of friendship that we have established with others both old and new in our life. We always believe that each friend that comes into our journey is a gift that allows us to unfold the more ourselves.

Thank you for the gift of family for each member of our families plays a very significant aspect in our life. May their presence be a constant source of strength for us as we soon will start year 2015.

Thank you for the gift of our talents, skills, abilities that allow us to contribute to whatever industry we are in. In return, we also receive the basic resources for us to be able to provide our basic provisions.

And thank you for the gift of good health that allow us to perform our daily task to the best of our abilities. We also remember to take care religiously to our health and this we do by avoiding anything that can and may destroy is such as drugs, over indulging on something that may cause harm to our bodies.

In summary, thank you for everything and may we continue to be beacons of light for others especially to the unfortunate members of our society.
