Life is in a constant race yet the best approach to it is by just enjoying and embracing every single day. Yet when bills stack up faster than income arrives, savings shrink, and steady opportunities feel nowhere to be found, fear speaks the loudest. It whispers: this will never change. You’re stuck. You’ll never get ahead. And for several occassions, I’ve sat awake late in Melbourne nights, running numbers until my eyes burned, chest tight with uncertainty. I know that weight. For too long I tried to carry it all on my own — until I learned one life-changing truth: prayer is not a last resort when we’ve run out of options. It is our first step toward breakthrough.
Turning My Finances Over in Prayer
As I grow older, I once thought prayer was only for “spiritual things” — never for bank balances, unexpected costs, or gaps between paydays. Then one rainy afternoon, overwhelmed and out of answers, I knelt and spoke every worry out loud. No fancy words, no polished phrases — just honest, raw need: “I don’t know how to fix this. I’m out of strength. Please show me the way, provide what I lack, and help me trust You more than I trust what I can see.” That reality then is a concrete example of how could we submit everything to Him knowing that He is but the very source of all wisdom.
Peace didn’t fall instantly, but clarity did. A quiet assurance settled deep inside: You are not forgotten. This hard season is not your final chapter.
A Simple Prayer for Your Financial Breakthrough
Heavenly Father, I come to You with open hands and an honest heart. You know exactly where I stand — every need, every debt, every worry. I don’t fully understand this season, but I trust You hold my future. Open doors no one can shut. Send provision and opportunities I cannot make for myself. Give me wisdom to steward what I have, patience to wait well, and courage to keep going. Meet every need according to Your abundance. Restore what feels lost. Let this struggle become a testimony of Your faithfulness. I choose to trust You — today, and always. Amen.”*
Finally, here is what I’ve learned on this journey: breakthrough often arrives wrapped in peace first, provision later. Sometimes it comes as unexpected help, a timely opportunity, or simply the strength to keep going one more day. Every small mercy is a breakthrough in progress.
Keep praying. Keep showingn up. Keep believing. Your help is on the way- and this season will one day be the story you use to encourage others.
