Have Faith In Jesus

As I returned home from hearing the celebration of the Holy Eucharist today, I was struck by the homily of the priest regarding one’s putting his own faith on Jesus even though, he at that time, appeared just like one of them- a human being yet one of the Divine Persons.

However, when we try to read from the Bible, we could find so many stories of Jesus manifesting Himself as a Divine Healer and a Trusted Friend. On this modern world of today, how do people nowadays perceive Jesus in their life? Do they also believe in His miracles and saving act on mankind in spite of His being non existent nowadays?

These are but a few of those questions that perhaps have been kept deep inside our hearts. Yet in the midst of the noise of this modern world, I always maintain that inner peace so as to allow Jesus to touch my life manifested through the various blessings that I continuously receive from Him.

Hence, I always say my prayers of gratitude to Jesus for allowing me to have those inspiring moment since they also usher a clearing light on my heart. After all, it is Jesus whom I consider as my best and personal friend.

Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace

As I and my wife attended one of the masses at St. Francis Church in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, at the end of the celebration, I took one of the leaflets in the church and when I read the write ups, I was struck with one of the articles there. As a gist, the article talked about the gathering which included Pope Francis as he was embraced by Rabbi Abraham Akorka and a Muslim leader Omar Abboud, President of the Institute for Interreligious Dialogue in Buenos Aires.

The accompanying photo of the three signified a unity amidst their diversity since all three of them represented a certain group in the church. In my own reflection, I said to myself that no matter how diverse our beliefs and cultures are but if we will only embrace each other as a unique individual made of both positive and negative characteristics and that no one is ever perfect then maybe, this world would be devoid of any atrocity and inhuman sceneries.

Moving further, I also asked myself if on what particular way could I be an instrument of peace to others and I thought of so many ways such as just being me and being welcoming to all regardless of one’s background or colour of skin to people known and unknown personally to me.

By allowing myself to be an instrument for peace then means that I am also spreading this good news that in our time, we are all challenged to be real brothers and sisters to one another.

Waking up each day and affirming our own uniqueness then turning to others and sharing with them a warm and a gentle smile thus a simple gesture as that could become a concrete manifestation of our sincere desire to connect with them.

Looking Back on the Impact of Jesus in our Life

As it is said in the gospel of John: 14:1-5 ” Thomas said to him, ” Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, ” I am the way and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  Clearly mentioned by Jesus that it is by strengthening our relationship with Him that we are able to go to His Father. This is somewhat related even in our moment of death that in Him, we would still be alive.

However, we need to personally invest in this kind of relationship. We are not expected just to rely on this assurance of Jesus, instead we need to develop all our basic relationships with others. In spite of our predicaments and limitations, numerous ways are still within our reach to progress in our personal relationship with Jesus.

The right way, as one theologian said, is the way towards a genuine relationship with Jesus. In every journey that we trek, the only goal is to be with Jesus and enjoy our personal friendship with Him. Besides, there are no known compromise to this, whether we like it or not, this is the only way as well that will positively lead us all to His Father’s kingdom.

Grateful for This Week

As this week comes to an end, I am so grateful to God for all the blessings that I unceasingly received on the course of this week. First and foremost, I am so blessed with the presence of the most wonderful people in my life, my wife Yanyan and our kiddo, Kurt Kristoff for they are my main source of inspiration. As I continued with all my tasks this week, I passed all the challenges and difficulties due to their encouragement and joy. MY world becomes so wonderful in their presence.

Before each day, I faced you my God and offered my daily thanks giving for each day which allowed me to enrich more my understanding and commitment to love you more. Each day this week passed with much colours- colours that brought variations as well to my day to day encounters with people in the workplace, outside of it and on other areas. These people have helped me continue developing my potentials as a person.

Moreover, the various stories I heard from others made me realise how colourful and excited life could be. Henceforth, these colours added to my world becoming asa place so worthy to live in. As I listen to the stories of my friends and as I read from their online stories, the more that I found out how people even of different cultures and ages can come together and jointly enjoy the beauty of life.

As this week comes into its end, I thank you, my God, for reminding me each day that every second, minute and hour that passes by becomes an instrument for me to realise further how wonderful life can be. Share and take care of others- that’s exactly one of my tasks in this LIFE.

Happy Moments

Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God.

– annonymous

Everyday in our life, we are interacting with various situations that also bring us complicated conditions….and just like the quote above, may we always have the ability to say our thanksgiving to Him for all the happy events in our life. On the other hand, let us also ask Him to bring us strength so that on moments of trials, we can learn how to cope with them.

And for everything in our life, may we learn just to say, THANK YOU, o LORD for  everything that you have showered me in life.
